PX-1 Pulsed Xenon Strobe Lamp - Light Source portion of the spectrophotometer (see LS-1 sheet for alternate)
The PX-1 Pulsed Xenon Strobe Lamp is a short-arc flashlamp optimized for UV measurements from ~ 225-700 nm. The lamp produces high-energy, short-duration pulses that make it useful for applications requiring transient sample-taking, or for optical measurements such as fluorescence or phosphorescence. Because it produces a pulsed signal, the PX-1 is less likely than other UV light sources to experience solarization problems that may occur <250 nm in many optical fiber assemblies.
The PX-1 Pulsed Xenon Strobe Lamp runs via an external TTL positive pulse. The spectrometer operating software allows the user to control both the light pulse and detector scan rates. In addition, the user can set the lamp pulse rate for continuous or intermittent strobe activity.
The PX-1 comes with a 12VDC power supply (a European power supply is also available) and 9-pin interface cable with D-type connectors. The PX-1 connects directly to Ocean Optics S1000 series spectrometers via the 9-pin interface cable, and connects to S2000 series spectrometers via the interface cable and a 9-pin to 15-pin adapter (the S2000 has a 15-pin connector).
The PX-1 lamp has an SMA 905 connector for easy coupling to Ocean Optics fiber optic spectrometers and accessories, including optical fibers, cuvette holders, and probes.
